September 16, 2003 By Beverly Quebec Organ Donation Did you see that precious baby girl in the Independent? Isn't she a cutie? Her name is Samantha Hallock from Highgate and she had a kidney transplant recently Can you imagine a tiny baby going through such a delicate operation? Thank God for organ donations or that precious baby would not be alive. The Friends of Allison Barkyoumb (now EarthAngels) helped to raise money for Samantha's medical expenses. These kids are now doing all they can to publicize organ donation. (Remember the neat float they put together for the 4th of July Parade?) Their hard work is paying off and they are being recognized around the country & will soon be traveling to Los Angeles to share Allison's story at The Share the Beat function. They are soon to become a non profit organization. After losing their special friend, Allison, they have learned to take responsibility that is usually reserved for adults, and they will continue to publicize the need for organ donation. Meantime, they can be proud of their efforts to help that precious baby. |
