Havalah's Story

I have a thirteen month old daughter named Havalah who is currently listed for a liver transplant. We're hoping it comes in the near future but in the meantime she is doing fairly well. Her main issues currently are very slow weight gain and her jaundice. She has been fortunate in that she hasn't had a lot of side effects and is not in a lot of discomfort. She gets a feeding tube put in tomorrow though, and she certainly won't be happy about that. We hope that she will get her transplant before she starts getting very sick. The chances of getting an organ are better for a liver than a heart because they can split the liver, or even take a piece from a living donor.
